The two men who died in a crash on Garrowby Hill at the weekend have been named by police.

They were 64-year-old Geoffrey Toase from York and Michael Midgley, 65, from Goole.

The two men died when the motorcycles they were riding were in collision with a silver VW Polo travelling along the A166 in the direction towards Fridaythorpe.

The 32-year-old driver remains in hospital with serious injuries.

Humberside Police is continuing to appeal for witnesses.

Anyone who may have witnessed the collision or any of the vehicles prior to the collision, is asked to please call 101, as for Humberside Police, and quote log number 428 of 3rd August 2019.
