No cars but an awful lot of water – that’s Haxby Road tonight (Thursday).
The road has been closed from the junction with Haleys Terrace inbound towards Clarence Street due to water running down the road.
A hole has opened up outside Haxby Road Primary School.
The road is expected to be closed for most of the night as engineers work to repair the leak.
Police are asking motorists to use an alternative route along Huntington Road.
Earlier today Yorkshire Water tweeted out that they were working on a water main on Haxby Road:
