A young child was involved in a collision with a vehicle in York city centre Police have reported.
Emergency service were called to The Stonebow at 2:30pm.
The road was closed between Stonebow House and the junction with Foss Islands Road and Peasholme Green.
The child, said to be under three-years-old, was transfered to the Air Ambulance, which landed on Hungate, then taken to hospital in Leeds.
Injuries are described as serious but are not thought to be life threatening.
