Three youths set about a car parked in York while the owners watched.
The incident happened at around at 2.30am on Wednesday (26 June) at Castle Car Park.
It involved three youths approaching a woman and her partner, who were collecting their car from the car park.
The youths then caused damage to the victim’s car by throwing cans at it and kicking and punching it.
Police are requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident, and would appeal to any nearby businesses with CCTV coverage of the car park to review their footage and contact officers if they have captured any relevant footage.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “In particular, we are appealing for information about a blue small car, possibly a Vauxhall Corsa that the suspects were believed to be using.”
Anyone with information that could assist the investigation should contact North Yorkshire Police.
