After one false start and a lot of anticipation, York now has its very first cat café.
The Cat’s Whiskers opened a few days ago in a listed three-storey building on Goodramgate.
Complete with 11 cats, including Freddie and Teddy, Simba, Bear and Snowy and Olaf – who are both deaf – the café is the only place for any feline fancier.
As we reported earlier this year, The Cat’s Whiskers is the brainchild of Lily Cole, who used to work at the North Yorkshire Police control room.
It costs £7 per person for an hour in the café. You can buy drinks and cakes too, but that’s up to you.
You can find out more, and book your slot, on the Cat’s Whiskers website.
