A gang of older teenagers attacked a 12-year-old girl in York after pushing her to the ground.
The male youths, one as old as 18, assaulted the girl in the Clifton Moor area.
The incident occurred at around 9pm on Monday (July 30) when the victim was walking alone.
A North Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said:

The girl was pushed to the ground where she was assaulted suffering injuries to her face, knee and stomach.
Officers are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident and are appealing for help to identify those involved.
Police are keen to identify six boys seen on bikes in the area around the time of the incident.
They have descriptions of three of them, all white males.
The first youth is
- aged about 18
- around 5ft 10in tall
- of muscular build
- with a short stubble dark beard
- and short dark hair.
He was wearing
- a Nike cap with a white tick on the front
- dark coloured baggy tracksuit bottoms
- and a black puffer jacket
- and he was riding an old mountain bike.
The second youth is
- aged 16 to 17-years-old
- around 6ft tall
- of slim build
- with red marks on face – possibly acne.
He was earing
- a black Adidas cap with three white stripes down the peak
- a black Adidas tracksuit with white stripes
- he was carrying a black rucksack
- and riding a new looking red racer bike.
The third youth is
- aged about 16
- around 5ft 8ins tall
- of average build
- with blond hair
- very distinctive long sideburns
- and an unshaven complexion.
He was wearing
- a navy blue Nike cap which a small metal tick on the front
- a navy coloured ‘Gym King’ tracksuit
- white ‘Huarache’ Nike trainers
- carrying a Hugo Boss bag
- and was riding a rusty old mountain bike
- with a neon yellow strip along the top frame.
