Parents have declared their support for the Minster School after three teachers were suspended.
And they have called for the staff to be reinstated after the half term holiday.
It followed a meeting this evening (May 29) between parents and representatives of the Chapter of York Minster, including the Dean.
They discussed the events which led to the staff being suspended.
As we reported earlier today, the disciplinary action was taken after unsecured air rifles and ammunition were discovered on school premises.
A statement issued tonight by the parents’ committee said:
At the meeting, parents were reassured that our children were at no point at actual risk of harm.
Parents voiced overwhelming support for the suspended teachers and pressed for the prompt return of all three members of staff after the half term break.
Parents received assurances that the concerns raised during the meeting will be acted upon for the wellbeing of staff and pupils alike.
The meeting ended on a positive note with parents declaring their pride in and overwhelming support for the school.
