A Night To Remember

York Barbican

Sat Mar 3 2018

£11.75-£17.35

More details

This year’s charity extravaganza features a line-up of top musicians including Chris Helme, Chris Farrell, Heather Findlay, Boss Caine, Jess Steel, Beth McCarthy, Graham Hodge, These Jaded Streets, Simon Snaize, Rob Wilson, Kieran O’Malley and Las Vegas Ken.

In previous years A Night To Remember has debuted thought-provoking films such as I Ain’t Got Me Mam, which raised dementia awareness and starred eight-year-olds from Carr Junior School.

And this tradition will continue.

“We have a very special musical feature planned this year that will melt the iciest of hearts,” said organiser Ian Donaghy.

“And we will also be debuting a film made to celebrate the inspirational work done by Jo Cole and her families at Bereaved Children Support York.”

Finest talents, favourite songs

Beth McCarthy, Kieran O’Malley and Jess Steel are ready for the big night

This year’s show is raising money for St Leonard’s Hospice, Dementia Projects in York and Accessible Arts as well as Bereaved Children Support in York.

It will feature some of the finest talents in the city playing music you wouldn’t always expect. Elton John, Dolly Parton, The Carpenters and even a showstopper from The Greatest Showman feature on the set list.

This year’s show will have an ensemble feel

Ian said this year is more of an ensemble show with many numbers having 20 performers on stage all singing in harmony led by maestro MD George Hall. Ian added:

This group of musicians have created the most warm, welcoming, inclusive, beautiful evenings where generations come out as a family.

Everyone on the stage, backstage or designing posters – not to mention audience members – now have ownership and pride in this event. So much so that this year the 1,500 strong audience feature on the posters!

A Night To Remember is a unique show where egos are checked in at the door and people deliver unique performances to make a difference in the city.
