Ice and fire conspired against York motorists today.
The frosty conditions saw one motorist end up in a hedge on Stockton Lane just after 7am on Friday (February 16).
The grey Audi came to a halt close to the junction with Holtby Lane near Dean’s Garden Centre.
The road was partially blocked for a while. No one was hurt.
Earlier, North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service were called out to a car fire on Fossway.
One crew from York put out the blaze shortly after midnight. The car was “well alight” by the time they arrived.
A spokeswoman for North Yorkshire Police said the fire was not being treated as suspicious.
