York police are appealing for the public to help them locate a wanted man.
Craig Wharton, aged 25, is wanted in connection with an assault on Union Terrace on 14 March 2013.
The incident which occurred outside the Arc Light Centre left a 43-year-old man requiring treatment at York District Hospital for internal injuries.
Officers would like to speak to Wharton about the incident and are appealing to the public to be vigilant and report any sightings of him.
Wharton is described as white, around 5ft 11in tall, with brown hair and blue eyes.
Detective Inspector Dave Kirby, of York police, said: “Craig Wharton knows he has questions to answer about the incident on Union Terrace and although he continues to avoid the police, we will catch up with him eventually.
“We have been making enquiries throughout York in an effort to trace him and we won’t stop until we find him.
“His friends and associates can expect regular visits from the police until we catch up with him, therefore I suggest he hands himself in to minimise the disruption to those people.”
Anyone who can help officers to find Craig Wharton is urged to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101 – select option 1 – and pass information to the Force Control Room.
