A man has died after a car crash in York.
The accident happened on Hull Road, close to its junction with Siward Street, at around 8pm on Monday (November 20).
A local man aged in his early 50s was heading east in a black Vauxhall Insignia when it mounted the nearside kerb and collided with a parked silver Toyota Corolla.
He was taken by ambulance to York Hospital where he sadly died.
From initial police enquiries, there is a suggestion that the man may have suffered a medical episode while driving.
The collision scene remained closed until 12.45am today (Tuesday) while police investigated and to allow the vehicles to be recovered safely.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision to come forward, as well as anyone who recalls seeing a black Vauxhall Insignia as it drove on Hull Road at around 8pm on Monday.
