A woman aged in her 70s was assaulted in a York supermarket car park.
The incident happened in the car park at Aldi at Monks Cross, between 5.15pm and 5.30pm hours on Wednesday, September 27.
It involved a white man of heavy build aged in his late 40s, and the older woman, who are both from the York area.
The woman sustained a minor head injury and was taken by ambulance to York Hospital where she was discharged following treatment.
Man arrested
The man was arrested at the scene and later released under investigation while enquiries continue.
A police spokeswoman said: “We are appealing for information from anyone who witnessed the assault, and from anyone who recalls seeing either of the two people leading up to the incident.”
