It was a moment that changed their lives forever.
A VW Golf careered off the road and crashed into their living room – badly injuring one man sitting on the sofa inside.
The car then burst into flames and set fire to the house.
Now a crowdfunding campaign has been set up to try funds to help the stricken family.
Had to move out
The appeal has been launched by Lauren Purvis, a friend of the affected family on Morehall Close, Clifton.
You can donate by visiting the Just Giving Page here. Writing on the page, Lauren says:
The fire created by the crash has destroyed all belongings. Jordan’s stepdad is currently in hosptial having his second surgery.
We would really appreciate people’s donations to help this family at the tragic time.
She is aiming to raise £5,000 for the family.
Investigation continues
The crash happened at about 1.25am on Sunday when the white Golf left Rivelin Way and smashed through the wall and into the house.
Three people were in the car, and managed to get out before it caught fire. They suffered minor injuries.
The man in the living room was taken to hospital with “severe lower limb injuries”.
A man in his 20s, who was arrested at the weekend has been released from police custody. He is subject to further investigation as the inquiry continues.
Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone who saw the car in the moments leading up to the collision as it travelled along Longwood Road/ Rivelin Way, or elsewhere in the Clifton area.
