Two men suffered serious injuries after being attacked by a gang in York.
At about 4.15am on Monday (May 1) an altercation occurred in the Castlegate area.
The two men were attacked by a group of men and women.
Both men were found unconscious with serious injuries. One of the men was taken to York Hospital for treatment where he remained for two nights.
Urgent appeal
Police are urgently appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has any information that could help identify those involved, to get in touch.
In particular, they would like to speak to anyone who was in the area around the time of the assault.
