Win £100 for your poem!
In association with YorkMix, York Literature Festival launches its 2013 poetry competition.
First prize: £100 Second Prize: £60 Third Prize: £30
The York prize (£20) will be awarded to an excellent poem from somebody with a York postcode. Four commended poets will each win £15. The competition will be judged by award-winning poet Carole Bromley, and prizes will be awarded on Monday, March 18th at the Black Swan pub in York.
Rules:
1) Poems may be on any subject
2) Poems must not have been previously published in any form
3) Poems must be not longer than 40 lines
4) Entry is free
5) Send your poems by email to: [email protected] and include your name, address and telephone number
6) The deadline for entry is midnight on February 28th 2013
7) No more than three poems per person
8) The competition is open to anybody resident in the UK
9) Any writers or speakers listed in the York Literature Festival programme are NOT eligible to enter
10) York Literature Festival Committee members are not eligible to enter
11) Winners will receive payment by cheque
12) The judge’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into
13) Entrants agree to have their details added to the York Literature Festival and YorkMix mailing lists, but can unsubscribe at any time.
