999 crews descend on North Yorkshire RAF base – This is why
Police, fire and ambulance crews will descend on a North Yorkshire airfield today (Wednesday).
But there’s no need to be alarmed.
Along with the Royal Air Force, the emergency services are taking part in a training exercise at RAF Dishforth.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “You may see increased activity at this location, along with a number of emergency service vehicles so please don’t be alarmed.
“Exercises like this one play a key role in ensuring we are always ready to respond to a whole range of incidents and enable us to test out our capabilities and skills alongside our partner organisations.
