New parking restrictions are set to be brought in on more than 60 roads around York.
Double yellow lines will be painted in dozens of residential streets and some main roads, under new plans across the city.
The boundaries and hours of some ResPark zones will also change, and new markings will be painted at some bus stops in Beckfield Lane and Danebury Drive in Acomb, to help keep the spaces clear for buses.
The unrestricted parking area in Scarcroft Road, one of the unlimited free parking areas nearest the city-centre, will also be removed.
Signs have been placed on lampposts around the city, notifying local residents of the proposed changes in their street.
The full list of streets affected is at the foot of this article and residents have until Friday (May 14) to send comments supporting or opposing specific proposals. All comments should be send to [email protected]
A City of York Council spokeswoman said the changes were all ones that had been requested over the past year by York residents and councillors. The council carries out a review once a year of such requests.
She said the vast majority of the changes were to introduce double yellow lines to help with visibility at junctions.
The spokeswoman added said: “The Scarcroft Road proposal is due to issues with coaches unloading and causing obstructions. It was therefore recommended that the bay was removed and replaced with a ‘No waiting at any time’ restriction to allow this to happen in a safe location.”
