These photographs show the Bootham Tavern reborn after a £500,000 refurbishment.
The pub on Bootham has re-opened with a new look and a new licensee – Nicola Hunter. Nicola will be a familiar face to many, having run the popular Molly’s Tearooms on Stonegate for the past few years.
She said: “Restoring the Bootham has been a huge project and I’m sure that everyone will be delighted with the results. I am really looking forward to showing off the pub and its facilities to customers old and new.”
The Bootham Tavern has been given a complete internal makeover, to the bar and its six letting rooms, in partnership with national pub operator, Punch.
The imposing corner building now has a new back bar area, updated and improved facilities, new signage and an upgraded courtyard.
It also has a strong focus on craft ales and live sport, broadcasting big footie and rugby matches as well as other sporting fixtures.
Punch openings manager Sam Ward said: “The restoration of the Bootham Tavern has been a real labour of love but this is a prominent building in the city and the stunning results more than justify the time and effort.
“We are looking forward to supporting Nicola and her team as they open the next chapter in this iconic pub’s history.”
