These amazing pictures show how two York tattoo artists are creating walking works of art.
They shared some of their most intricate inkings to mark the arrival of the York International Tattoo Convention at York Racecourse.
Artists will be coming from all around the world to display their amazing and unusual work.
York Racecourse
Sat Jun 18 @ 10am-9pm; Sun Jun 19 @ 10am-8pm
£15 for a day ticket, £25 for the weekend
The convention will be home to a range of body piercings, competitions, live demonstrations and trade stalls selling alternative clothing, Mexican sugar skull tiles and ‘flowellery’ tree of life jewellery.
Local tattooists Dan Rooke from Rookstar Tattoos and Mark Thompson from Ruby Arts will be among those showing off their skills at the convention.
Tattoos by Polish Dan

Both Dan and Josh are in high demand as tattoo artists. Josh is not taking any new bookings until at least October and his earliest appointment is next January.
Dan specialises in realism, with an amazing talent for small detail. He believes that art is his way of life, spending all of his time outside of the tattoo parlour still drawing, painting and airbrushing.

Tattoos by Josh Dixon

Josh describes his work as realistic rather than stylised and enjoys dark and fantasy art the most. A lot of his inspiration for his designs comes from video games and films, and he also uses reference from fantasy fan art.
For Josh, working as a tattoo artist in York is ideal.
