At the heart of the festival is comedy. Stand up stars, sketch shows and hotly-tipped newcomers are all heading to York on a mission to make you laugh your socks off.
Look out for Paul Sinha performing on Parliament Street in a show that mixes his best bits and new material about how a couple of drinks can change your life, and York favourite Henning Wehn performing at the Barbican in a show that is more like a call to arms.
Multi-award winning newcomer Janine Harouni debuts her highly anticipated show about standing up for what you believe in, and New Comedian of the Year 2016 Eshaan Akbar asks the important question of what does it take to be a man these days?
Here’s a few of the comedy shows to start to tickle your fancy. And here are all the shows at this year’s Great Yorkshire Fringe.
