There are a number of roads in York subject to traffic restrictions in the coming weeks.
A lot of the roadworks are to enable highways resurfacing.
Bishopthorpe Road is affected. It will close north of its junction with Beresford Terrace and south of the junction with Campleshon Road every evening between Friday 31 May and Wednesday 12 June.
City of York Council says: “It is envisaged that the road will only be closed between 6.30pm and 2am on weekday nights and between 8am and 6pm on Sundays.
“An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period via Nunnery Lane, Blossom Street, The Mount, Tadcaster Road, Sim Balk Lane, Church Lane.”
There’s more disruption coming up on Leeman Road. It will close completely between its junction with Cinder Lane and 222 metres north-west of the junction from 7pm on Friday, 31 May to 6am on Monday, 3 June.
It is to allow power grid work to be carried out safely.
Diversions will take road users via Station Avenue, Museum Street, St Leonards Place, Bootham, Clifton, Water End, Salisbury Road, Salisbury Terrace and Kingsland Terrace.
Clifton Park Avenue will be closed nightly from Shipton Road to a position 180m west of that junction between 11.30pm on Monday (20 May) to 6am on Wednesday 22 May.
It is envisaged that the road will only be closed between 11.30pm and 6am each night.
Halifax Way, Elvington will close each night between its junction with Elvington Lane and north of the junction with Harrier Court, from Tuesday, 21 May to Thursday 30 May. The hours of closure are 7pm to 5am.
