Fancy a gin? You’re in luck, as York Gin have opened their brand new shop at York station in time for Christmas.
The shop sits in between the station’s main entrance and the main concourse – an ideal location for any last minute gift buying or souvenirs.
First established in 2018, York Gin are well on their way to being an instantly recognisable brand for the city.

Shoppers can choose from the full range of York Gin varieties, gin gifts, G&T cans, boxed sets of miniatures and more.
The shop also stocks a range of other local products such as beers and ales from Ainsty Ales and Another Beer Company, marmalade from Bessie’s Yorkshire Preserves, greetings cards from local artist Elliot Harrison and more.
York Gin marketing director Emma Godivala said: “We’re crated a stylish and elegant space, celebrating our world-class products that are actually made in York.
“We want to provide a delightful welcome for those who have just arrived in the city – and a beautiful final memory for those about to leave.”
The prime location features arched sash windows, a stone brick exterior and a well-lit interior. Inside, there is a unique hanging display using 40 types of dried flowers and light bulbs inside cut-off York Gin bottles.
York Gin also have a shop on Pavement as well as an online shop.
The shop will create the equivalent of up to five new full-time jobs, with jobs paid the living wage.
Initial opening hours are 9:30am to 8:30pm.

The opening of the new York Gin shop marks the start of LNER’s efforts to give York station a more local feel – with more independent shops opening in the coming months.
York Gin co-founder and commercial director Pete McNichol said: “It’s fantastic that LNER are trying to give the station a local feel, and encouraging independent companies like York Gin.
“Our shop will help to give the station a truly York feel.”
