Some roads and car parks are closed, the riverside is a no-go, but York is still open for business after yet another 4m-plus flood.
These are the scenes in the city today (Saturday, 30 December) after the River Ouse peaked at 4.33m at 3.30am.
The water is up past the numberplates of vehicles stranded by the waters in St George’s Field car park.
Skeldergate is closed at its Bishopgate Street end. There are defences and pumps alongside Tower Gardens and Peckitt Street.
