There were lots of shoppers in York today on the last Saturday before Christmas.
Although the streets were busy, the mood on the main shopping streets was good natured as people went about their festive shopping.
However there was a report of some trouble on the walkway near the Park Inn.
A witness said that the police and an ambulance were called after a fight, watched by a group of around 20-30 teenagers.
On Coney Street there were queues to get into Boots, TK Maxx and others. Shoppers were serenaded by the Micklegate Singers singing carols.
There were several queues outside shops on Stonegate too, as store staff ensured they stuck to their maximum numbers to try to keep people safe.
People waited in line at Hotel Chocolat, Käthe Wohlfahrt, Bettys, the Evil Eye and Trembling Madness on the street.
The new Covid marshalls, provided by City of York Council to help keep people safe in the city centre, were a visible presence, alongside police patrols.
