Police have issued an update into their inquiries following the discovery of a man’s body in Selby yesterday (Wednesday).
They were alerted at 9.30am yesterday morning after the body was found at Selby Dam Pumping Station.
At the time, they said he had not been identified.
This morning (Thursday), a North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “The identity of the man who was found at Selby Dam Pumping Station yesterday has now been confirmed.
“His family have been informed and are being supported by officers.
“Enquiries are on going to establish the circumstances around his death, which is currently being treated as unexplained.”
The police cordon at the pumping station was removed yesterday afternoon.
