A seven-year-old boy went missing for five hours on Tuesday, sparking a police hunt to find him.
The boy disappeared near the River Foss at 4.30pm on Tuesday (June 30).
Residents, particularly in the Huntington and New Earswick areas, were urged to keep a lookout for the boy.
He was wearing a grey T shirt and black trunks.
York Rescue Boat planned to deploy a search team starting at St George’s Field car park at 9.45pm.
But then came through the news everyone was hoping for:

He had been found safe and well in New Earswick at about 9.30pm. Always good to report a happy ending.
North Yorkshire police said on Facebook:
He has been found locally in a field and he is being cared for by officers and returned back to parents. He is completely unharmed.
