Drivers are being asked to avoid a stretch of the A1079 near Pocklington due to a large roadside fire.
The blaze is near Pocklington.
Humberside Fire & Rescue Service said: “We have four fire appliances attending a fire at a scrap yard on the A1079 at Pocklington.

“There is significant smoke being produced, motorists are advised to try to avoid the area.”
They added at 5.47pm: “We are still in attendance at a fire at a scrap yard in Pocklington. There is significant smoke in the area, local residents should keep all doors and windows closed as a precaution.”
Humberside Police said: “Please be aware that the A1079, York Road, is closed between Canal Lane and The Balk due to an ongoing incident.
“We are advising road users to avoid the area and find alternative routes, thank you.”
Locals say thick black smoke has filled the air and they can hear explosions.
There are several reports suggesting it could be at Robert Farrow & Sons, the scrap metal merchants, although we’ve not had that confirmed.
