A car crashed into a traffic light at a busy York junction tonight (Wednesday).
It happened during the evening rush hour at the junction between Lawrence Street and James Street.
The car, a red Nissan, ended up partially on the traffic island.
Crash location
The front is embedded in the pole. It hit with enough force to bend the traffic light backwards and knock part of the unit into the road.
A police car and ambulance were at the scene earlier. We have no news of any casualties at the moment.
The wrecked car remains in place but is not blocking any traffic.
