Following the abrupt departure of York City boss Martin Gray on Sunday, the club has put youth team coach Sam Collins in charge.
Collins assumed caretaker responsibility for City’s first team on Monday (August 20) following Gray’s sacking.
He will be assisted by City’s strength and conditioning coach Stuart Parnaby.
Collins, 41, played nearly 600 senior games as a defender for clubs including Huddersfield Town, Bury, Port Vale, Hull City, and Hartlepool United.
Previous caretaker experience
He arrived at City in the summer after previously working as professional development coach at League One club Bradford City.
He also took charge as caretaker-manager at Hartlepool on three seperate occasions.
Parnaby, 36, played in in the Premier League for Middlesbrough and Birmingham City and joined City this summer.
Collins and Parnaby will now prepare the players for the Bank Holiday weekend games – the away match against Brackley Town on Saturday (August 25) and the home tie with Blyth Spartans on Monday (August 27).
Gray was dismissed after another poor performance by City, who could only manage a 1-1 draw with Curzon Ashton at home
That left the club languishing in eight position, already eight points behind National League North leaders Chorley.
There is no word from the club as to how long finding a permanent successor may take.
