You can meet a polar bear in York city centre this month.
That’s right! Inka the polar bear can be found roaming St Helen’s Square on Saturday 18 January – but don’t worry, she’s very friendly.
Meet the life-sized puppet, and her two cute cubs, in this special family event.
Inka the polar bear will be at St Helen’s Square for three 30-minute sessions during the day, at 3pm, 4.15pm and 5.30pm.
The event is a collaboration between the York BID and the street theatre and practical effects company Creature Encounters.
People of all ages, including children, families, and visitors, are invited to pop down to St Helen’s Square to meet the planet’s largest carnivore.
In the case of rain on the day of the event, Inka the polar bear will be sheltering inside St Helen’s Square, so people can still meet her while she keeps her fur dry.
