Here’s a reason to look forward to those dark nights – Yorkshire’s Winter Wonderland is making a welcome return.

It will be back at York Designer Outlet from Friday 19 November 2021 to Sunday 9 January 2022, it was announced today.

The festive fun will include the ever-popular outdoor ice rink, a vintage funfair and Santa’s grotto.

Fun for all ages at Yorkshire’s Winter Wonderland.

Yorkshire’s Winter Wonderland has been a regular Christmas attraction at York Designer Outlet since 2010 but was cancelled last year due to the pandemic.

This year will mark its 16th season in York.

Have fun on the ice as The Ice Factor – the North of England’s largest outdoor ice rink – will return along with a 30ft high Christmas tree at its centre. You’ll soon feel festive with that sparkling background!

After working hard skating – or falling – around the ice, why not warm up in The Chalet, the cosy cafe that overlooks the rink? Refuel on hot dogs and toasties while sipping on mulled wine or hot chocolate.

Family-friendly festivities

Take a ride at the vintage funfair.

To add to the fun, there will also be a vintage funfair – complete with the 1937 Brooklands Dodgems and the 1930s Chair-o-Plane.

Paul Tyler, centre manager at McArthurGlen Designer Outlet York said: “We couldn’t be more thrilled to see the return of Yorkshire’s Winter Wonderland.

“After the difficulties everyone faced last Christmas, we are very excited to be hosting once again festive activities for all of the family to enjoy.”

Meet Santa!

And of course, what would Christmas be without the big man himself? Visit Santa and his elves to collect a special gift. Booking is required to visit Santa but can be made on the day, subject to availability.

After all that, why not let the festive cheer continue by tackling some of your Christmas shopping at York Designer Outlet.

James Cundall, producer of Yorkshire’s Winter Wonderland commented: “Yorkshire’s Winter Wonderland brings family and friends together at this special time of the year.

“We look forward to welcoming everyone this November, whether for a glide around the ice rink, to experience the fun of the fair, enjoy a hot chocolate or visit Santa.”
