There are only a few days to go before York has another smart new restaurant.

Pearly Cow is due to open on Clifton on Saturday.

And plans for how the exterior of the restaurant will look have been submitted for planning permission.

Planning documents state: “The extent of works is minor and seek to align the scheme with the rebranding of the existing restaurant facility, which is situated within the hotel.

“Consent is being sought for the display an one free-standing non-illuminated menu board, alongside one non illuminated ‘Pearly Cow’ sign on a post, at the restaurant’s secondary frontage. The signs will be positioned to the rear of the front railings.”

The restaurant is part of the No.1 York by GuestHouse hotel, opened by brothers Tom, James and Tristan Guest.

It will serve “slow-farmed meats cooked over fire for flavour, just-picked plants, and sea-fresh seafood served on ice”.

“Pearly Cow York celebrates what hails from the dales, moors, vales, and the nearby North Sea,” the website says.

Diners who visit during Pearly Cow’s ‘soft launch week’, between Saturday 25th and Friday 31st March, and you’ll get receive 25% off your total bill.

Two more Pearly Cow restaurants are due to follow, in Margate and Brighton.
