Two men have appeared in court charged with murder following the death of a 26-year-old man in York.
Michael Mulvana, 31, and Jobie Tyers, 27, appeared at York Magistrates’ Court today (Thursday) when the case was sent to the Crown Court.
Mr Mulvana and Mr Tyers were arrested on suspicion of murder following an incident in the Haxby Road area on Saturday, 23 November.
The victim, Indrit Mustafaj, from Bradford, was one of three people found with injuries that night at the Diamonds Villa guest house on Vyner Street, off Haxby Road. He later died in hospital.
Mr Mulvana, of Bright Street, York, and Mr Tyers, from Gate Helmsley, were also each charged with two counts of wounding or causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
Neither of the defendants has yet entered pleas to any of the charges.
A woman in her 30s and a man in his 60s were also arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.
They have been released under investigation as police enquiries continue. Magistrates remanded Mr Mulvana and Mr Tyers in custody until their appearance at Leeds Crown Court on Monday, 2 December.
