York man charged with attempted murder

A York man has been charged with attempted murder, wounding with intent and false imprisonment.

Gregory Marcus Hart, 52, of Fourth Avenue, was remanded in custody by York Magistrates today (3 May).

It follows an incident that occurred on the third floor of a block of flats in Fourth Avenue in York on the evening of Wednesday (1 May) at around 6.40pm.

A 47-year-old York man sustained head and pelvic injuries.

Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident, and has not already spoken to the police, to contact them.

The injured man is still in hospital.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact North Yorkshire Police.
