Fire crews were called to a flat on fire in York this afternoon (Friday).
Firefighters from York and Acomb and the aerial ladder platform from Huntington went to the incident on James Street at 2.19pm.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews located a fire in the bedroom of a flat on the first floor of the building.
“Crews extinguished the fire and confirmed that there were no persons in the fire.
“The fire resulted in significant fire and smoke damage to the bedroom and smoke damage to the rest of the premises.”
