For the second time in 24 hours, York firefighters have come to the rescue of a canine resident.
At 9.13am (Tuesday), a crew from Huntington were called out to Strensall.
There a dog had fallen down a storm drain at the side of the River Foss.
The animal was stuck about eight feet down and its owner was unable to help it out.
Firefighters used a triple extension ladder to access the drain and free the dog.
Earlier we reported how fire crews had come to the aid of a dog stuck in a gate in Haxby last night.
