Firefighters have rescued a man in distress from the River Ouse this morning (Wednesday).
A crew from Acomb were called at 6.43am to Clifton Bridge.
Station Manager Tony Walker said on Twitter: “Crews from Acomb and our boat from York station have this morning rescued a person in distress from the River Ouse.
“The incident occurred near Clifton Bridge. Your fire service working to keep you safe.”
Crews assisted the man from the water’s edge and left him in the care of the ambulance service.
