The Millie Wright Children’s Charity are holding their fourth annual Fun Run this weekend.
The 5k and 10k charity fun run will be bringing the community together with fancy dress, family fun and fundraising for a fantastic cause.
Run For Millie will take place on Saturday 24 May in Poppleton, York.

Hosted by YorkMix, Olympic gymnast and Commonwealth champion Nile Wilson, and patron of the charity, will also be attending the event.
The fun run is once again being sponsored by Harrowells Solicitors.
The charity was established in 2022 by Ceri and Nigel Wright, in memory of their daughter Millie, and aims to address the inequalities in hands-on charitable support for families of children with life threatening conditions.
Co-founder of The Millie Wright Children’s Charity, Nigel Wright, said: “We’d love everyone to join our ‘Run For Millie’ to help us celebrate what would have been Millie’s 17th Birthday and to raise important funds for our #feedtheparents initiative.
“Ever since the charity launched, we have been campaigning for more hands-on support for families of children with life threatening conditions when in hospital caring for their seriously ill child. We know from our own experience while looking after Millie, just how important this is.
“The money raised by this event will be used to provide access to food for parents and carers looking after seriously ill children and towards funding a second Family Support Worker.”
The Run For Millie will start at 10:30am from Poppleton Green. Runners must pre-register at this link here.
There will also be refreshments available from the Methodist Hall, and live music in the pub garden at The Lord Collingwood from 12pm.
Tickets for the 5k run are £12 each (£40 for two adults and two children) and £20 each for the 10k run.
