Pica Studios on Grape Lane is opening its doors to the public – with a special postcard sale of original artworks made by studio members.
The artist-led studio space is home to over 20 creatives. It’s a workshop space which means it’s rarely open to the public, except for the annual York Open Studios.
So this is an unusual opportunity to take a look inside – and pick up some original artwork at the same time.
The postcard sale will take place at Pica Studios on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 May from 10am to 4pm.
The studio has been running since 2017 with artists and creatives making ceramics, jewellery, paintings, collage, films and textiles.
Founding member Emily Stubbs said, “This is the first time we have collaborated with so many of us producing work just for the studio. It’s a bonding experience and we are looking forward to it very much.”
Each postcard will be available for £25 and will help to raise funds to improve the studio space and create a gallery in the foyer.
As well as the sale in the studio, postcards will also be available for purchase through Instagram.
