A woman was taken to hospital after breathing in smoke during a fire at a house in York today (Friday).
Fire crews from Acomb and York were called to the incident, on Ostman Road, at 8.56am.
A tumble dryer had caught fire in the two-storey, semi-detached house.

One woman was taken to hospital by ambulance with smoke inhalation.
The tumble dryer was severely damaged. The room was moderately damaged, and there was some light smoke damaged to the rest of the ground floor.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews used two breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet and a positive pressure ventilation fan.
“The cause is believed to be an electrical fault.”
