Woman prisoner who escaped from jail near York recaptured

The prisoner who fled a jail near York has been recaptured.

Donna Willis, 36, was serving a five-year sentence following her conviction at Newcastle Crown Court for grievous bodily harm.

She absconded from HMP Askham Grange, near York, on Wednesday, April 19.

Willis was arrested by Northumbria Police and is now in custody.

North Yorkshire Police thanked everyone for sharing their appeal to find her.
