A woman escaped with minor injuries after a crash on the A1M this afternoon (Sunday).
Emergency services were called to the northbound carriageway of the motorway, between junction 48 (Boroughbridge) and junction 49 (Dishforth) at 12.14pm.
Two cars had collided, an Audi and a Hyundai.
Fire crews from Ripon, Boroughbridge and Northallerton were sent to the incident.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “All occupants of the vehicles were out on arrival.
“The female driver of the Hyundai, aged in her 40s, suffered superficial injuries only.
“The male driver and female passenger of the Audi, both aged approximately in their 50s, were uninjured.
“Crews used a turfer winch to remove the vehicles to a safe location.”
The northbound carriageway was closed for some time while the incident was dealt with. It has since reopened.
