Win £400 for your poem in the YorkMix / York Literature Festival poetry competition

Our poetry competition is back – and this year it is bigger than ever.
YorkMix has again teamed up with York Literature Festival for one of the highlights of the city’s literary year.
The first prize has been increased to £400.
Prizes
First prize: £400
Second prize: £100
Third prize: £50
The York prize (£40) will be awarded to an excellent poem from an entrant with a York postcode.
Ten Highly Commended, and 20 Commended poems will each win their writer a certificate.
The competition, which last year attracted nearly 1,000 poems from 291 poets, is now firmly established as a major event on the national scene, attracting entries from poets throughout the UK.
The competition will be judged by award-winning writer Carole Bromley, poet in residence at YorkMix.
Entries will be accepted from today until the closing date of Saturday, February 28, 2015.
Winning and commended poets will be invited to read their entries at a gala prize-giving event at York St John University on Saturday March 28, 2015.
How to enter
You can enter one poem for £5 or up to five poems for £10.
Fill in this form and upload each poem. We will accept either Word documents or PDFs.
You will then be directed to PayPal where you can pay the entry fee securely via debit or credit card, or by your PayPal account if you have one.
Once payment has been received the poem(s) will be sent to YorkMix.
You can enter as often as you like.
