It was a very welcome celebration of Yorkshire’s brilliant tourism businesses after what has been a hugely challenging year.

The White Rose Awards, organised by Welcome To Yorkshire and sponsored by York City Knights, dished out the honours to the best in class, from pubs and restaurants to hotels and caravan parks.

Hosts of the online ceremony Natalie Anderson and Rich Williams presented 17 awards to 16 top Yorkshire businesses and organisations.

And four of them were from York!

The Grand Hotel won Business Events Venue of the Year. Small hotel of the year was Grays Court – for the second year running.

The Rattle Owl restaurant took the Taste of England Casual Dining Award. And Hallowscream at York Maze was named winner of the Tourism Event Award.

Simply stunning – Grays Court in York

“The biggest of congratulations to all our White Rose Award winners, to everyone who got a silver or bronze award and indeed to every single finalist,” said Welcome to Yorkshire’s chief executive James Mason.

“I know how incredibly challenging this year has been, but the grit and determination to keep going is like nothing I’ve ever experienced.

“The sheer quality and diversity we’ve seen tonight is all the proof we need of how ready Yorkshire is to welcome tourists back safely when we can.”
