This is the moment when two cars collided in the queue at a York tip.
It was filmed at the Towthorpe and Strensall Household Waste Recycling Centre by Paul Bulmer.
He was driving the car behind the one that was damaged.
That was a new Ford Fiesta occupied by an older couple. As the video shows, when the Fiesta turns left, it is in collision with a Jeep.
“The elderly people driving a brand new car came away with a badly scuffed bumper,” said Paul, who said they were “shaken” by what happened.
But the Jeep driver, Simon Moreton, told YorkMix that he had right of way, and he reversed out of the situation. He has polished the scuff marks out of his vehicle, and is now considering taking legal action against the Fiesta driver.
Paul has sent his footage to the Fiesta couple. Simon is asking the council for the tip’s CCTV which will show ‘multiple angles’ of what happened.
Paul said: “There was no need for his actions and had he been reasonable there was enough room for him to move between me and the old guy and I wouldn’t have objected.”
Simon said immediately after the collision he told the Fiesta driver he would exchange details with him a few minutes later when he had calmed down – which he then did.
There has been much concern about the number of people who have been queuing to get into York tips, particularly at the Hazel Court facility.
A road rage incident was caught on camera outside that tip earlier this month.
