A man wanted by police has been found dead, officers said today (Thursday).
Police had been searching for Scott Hurst, 33, who was wanted on recall to prison.
His body was discovered in a property in the Acomb area of York.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “The ambulance service was called to a property in the Acomb area of York just before 10pm last night, where Scott Hurst was located.
“He was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene by paramedics.
“Police were notified, and enquiries are ongoing into the circumstances surrounding his death.”
We reported on Tuesday how Scott Hurst had evaded police by scaling a wall.
Officers published a description of him, asking anyone who had seen him, worked with him or who knew his whereabouts to come forward with information.
