Fire crews have tackled a blaze at a house in Strensall.
Firefighters were called out to the property at 11.20am today (Tuesday).
They found the roof space of the house well alight.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used three water jets to put out the fire.
Everyone was safely accounted for. Charlotte tweeted out this video of the blaze.
Strensall councillor Paul Doughty thanked North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service for their work in dealing with the blaze.
He tweeted: “Unusual to see a house fire with such damage. Pleased to hear everybody safe.
“Road diversion in place now while safety work completed. Please avoid Haxby Moor Road and use Strensall Road for access to/from York.
