A teenager has been arrested after a car crash in York city centre early today.
The incident happened at about 1.30am. Police responded to reports of a single vehicle, damage-only collision on Piccadilly.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “An 18 year old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of failing to provide a breath sample.
“He has been charged with driving under the influence of alcohol to appear at court later this month. He’s been released on bail.”
Piccadilly was shut both ways from the Postern Gate pub at the Tower Street junction to St Denys Road for some time.
It had reopened by 7.40am.
