A pedestrian is in hospital after being in collision with a car on a main York road.
The incident took place on Tadcaster Road shortly after 6pm yesterday (Thursday).
Police cordoned off a stretch of the road by York Racecourse, between Knavesmire Road and the St Helen’s Road junction.
The Yorkshire Air Ambulance landed on Knavesmire.
A Yorkshire Ambulance Service spokeswoman told YorkMix: “We received an emergency call at 6.09pm on Thursday to reports of a car in collision with a pedestrian on Tadcaster Road, York.
“We dispatched two ambulances, a clinical supervisor and the air ambulance to the scene.
“The patient was conveyed to Leeds General Infirmary by land ambulance.”
