Two people have been injured in a crash near York, which also claimed the life of a horse.
The collision happened on the A19 just before 3pm on Friday (28 July).
A dark coloured VW Polo, travelling south on the A19 near Escrick, was involved in a collision with a white Peugeot 3.5T horse box that was travelling north.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “Sadly, the horse died as a result of the collision and the drivers of both vehicles were taken to Leeds General Infirmary where they are receiving treatment for their injuries.”
Police would like anyone that saw either the white Peugeot horse box or dark coloured VW Polo or has dash cam footage of either vehicle to contact them.
